Most kids who start piano quit within a couple of years. My work is built around the opposite outcome: students who stick with music, grow real skill, and still want to play years later. The earlier a child starts and the more they enjoy it, the more likely music becomes something they keep for life — so that's what every lesson is designed for.

I'm a pianist and composer, and I teach piano and theory to students of all ages and levels — from first-time beginners to advanced RCM and ARCT candidates. As a composer, I don't just teach students to read the notes on the page; I help them understand how music actually works, so they play with real musicianship, not just memorized fingerings. For younger students, that comes wrapped in games, challenges, and friendly competition that keep practice something they look forward to. For exam-focused families, it means expert RCM preparation grounded in solid technique, ear training, and sight-reading.

My background is where the depth comes from: over a decade of teaching experience, a Master of Music from the University of Ottawa, and doctoral studies in composition and theory at the University of Toronto. I've guided students through more than ten RCM exams and taught privately, in music schools, and at the university level.
